Tools for citizens
Do you have a waterway that you want to protect? Read below for tools to help Alabama citizens protect their waterways.
Find your local water protection organization
You can start by finding the water protection group in your area. Alabama has over sixty different groups across the state.
Don't have a local water protection group? You can be the one to start one! Check out our "Tools for Grassroots Groups" and contact the Alabama Rivers Alliance Watershed Organizer, Elizabeth Salter, for information on how to get started.
Handy How-to Guides for Protecting Waterways
The Alabama Rivers Alliance is producing a series of how-to guides that help citizens learn how to protect their water.
- How to report pollution to the Alabama Department of Environmental Management
- How to check a company's pollution record
More River Protection Essentials are in development and will be added to the site as they become available.
