Photography workshop and hike with Charles Seifried

On Sunday, April 27, 2008, Charles Seifried will conduct a photography workshop and hike for Sierra Club into the wilds of the Bankhead National Forest. For many years, Charles Seifried's stunning nature photography has enlivened the pages and covers of the Bankhead Monitor, Wild Alabama and Wild South magazines. Many homes and businesses have

his art decorating the walls.

The hike will be led by Maggie Johnston and we will go to some of the beautiful waterfalls within the Bankhead. Please keep it simple and light! Bring along a digital or film camera, a wide-angle and close-up lens if you have them, a tri-pod, a notebook and pen. Remember to bring lunch, water and snacks as we will be picnicking along the way. Dress for hiking with layers of clothing, raingear, and hiking boots. Feel free to bring along a wildflower identification book, walking stick and tick repellant (preferably a non-spray type).

Location and time: The hiking group will meet at the Warrior Mountain Trading Post in Wren, Alabama. Warrior Mountains Trading Company is located at the intersection of highways 33 and 36 about 2 miles south of Moulton. We will meet at 9:30 am on Sunday, April 27th.
