Thanks for making the Wild & Scenic Film Festival a success!

We would like to thank everyone who helped to make our 2nd annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival a success!

About 200 folks came out for a terrific evening of film that was entertaining, inspiring, and motivating, and 81 of them became new members of the Alabama Rivers Alliance and Alabama Environmental Council!

Thanks to everyone who chose to join! Thanks also to our hardworking and dedicated staff of volunteers without whom we never could have run the show.

We are looking forward to hosting our 3rd annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival in 2010! Pictures from this year's event will be posted soon.

The Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival is the largest environmental film festival in North America. The main event is celebrated each January in Arizona City, NV and hosted by the South Yuba River Citizens League. Thanks to grants from national sponsors, the festival then goes on tour to communities throughout the US. This year, Alabama Environmental Council, Alabama Rivers Alliance, and the Birmingham community have chosen 15 of our favorite films to show, from categories like sustainable energy to community activism.

During the festival, members of the Alabama Rivers Alliance and Alabama Environmental Council will be treated to a special reception featuring food from local chefs, organic wine, and local beer from Good People Brewing Company.
