2010 Coosa River Whitewater Festival

“25^th Anniversary”

May 14-16, 2010

Friday, May 14

Practice Day:      8,000 cfs from 11 am to 5 pm at Moccasin Gap

Registration:       10 am to 9 pm at Coosa Outdoor Center & Southern Trails, Inc., 172 River Road, Wetumpka

9 pm until: Musical Entertainment by Southwood with Gary Clements and Dave Smith (down by the river weather permitting otherwise in the Coosa Outdoor Center equipment barn behind Coosa Outdoor Center/Southern Trails, Inc.

Saturday, May 1:

Competitor’s Meeting will be approximately 15 minutes before the start of each event at event site

9:30 am: Canoe Race (Jordan Dam East Parking Lot to just above the gap)

10:00 am: Classic Ender (Little Side of Gap Limit 20 Boats)

11:00 am: Sit-on-Top through the Rapid (Big Side of Gap–Limit 20 Boats)

Lunch at the Gap: $5 with registration or $5 cash at Moccasin Gap

(Includes choice of hamburger or hot dog and chips & soda)

12:00 noon: Junior Freestyle through the Rapid (Big Side of Gap)

1:00 pm: Women’s Freestyle through the Rapid (Big Side of Gap)

2:00 pm: Men’s Freestyle through the Rapid (Big Side of Gap)

7:30 pm: Awards Ceremony at the Party Site: Good weather at the tree house—bad weather in the equipment barn behind Coosa Outdoor Center (172 River Road)

8:00 – 11 pm: Party featuring entertainment by Moe Dixon who in addition to being a sensational entertainer is a kayaker, snowskier, Harley owner, golfer, windsurfer. This is Moe’s third time to entertain for us; he comes to us from Hood River, Oregon via Copper Mountain, CO

10 am – 5 pm: Just having fun on the Coosa for paddlers of all  skill levels!
